Description of character

I'm a very laid back and easy going person. I love laughing and have a bubbly nature. I like meeting people but can be shy. I love encouraging people and have a strong sense of compassion. I get annoyed with people who put others down or catergorises them. I am very passionate about Children's rights. I like learning new things and seeing new places.

Childcare experiences

I was the full time care for three children aged 5,9 and 14 for 2 years in rural Australia. I was the assistant on the Mobile Childcare Unit in Longreach for 1 year where i worked with a mixed age from 6 weeks to 5 years. I was the group leader in the 3.5-5.5 year old room in a LCD. Currently i am the Senior Coordinator of Outside School Hours and Vacation care which caters for the age group of 5.5-12 years.

School / Academic qualifications

Grade 12 Graduation Certificate, Cert II Children's Services

Childcare / First-Aid qualifications

Cert III Children's Services, currently completing Diploma Children's Services

Special talents

I'll attempt to be a jill-of-all-trades :-) I will try my best at any task that needs doing.

How I spend my leisure time

At the moment....Studying!!! Nerd alert :-) !! I really want to finish my study so that is my goal at the moment. I enjoy swimming, doing craft, photograpy, reading and i enjoy the occasional night out with friends. I am very family orientated.

Lived away from home

I grew up on a property in rural Australia and spent three years at boarding school. When I completed Year twelve I spent the next two years working on various remote properties with a family as their children's governess/carer.

Duties not willing to do

I will not be a mother to anyone's children. I prefer to be their friend and have a sisterly-love relationship with them. I do not want to take the place of their mother.

Why I want to be an Au Pair

I love working with children. I go to bed of a night smiling about what the children did at my workplace that day. I couldn't think of a more enjoyable occupation. It really seems unfair that I get paid for having fun and doing what I love! I also really want to travel and see more of our beautiful world and meet children from around the world. I want to develop more of an understanding of cultural diversity.

My philosophy for work and life is, "A ship in a harbour is safe but it's not what a ship was built for."
