Health & Insurance

Au Pairs are not required to pay National Insurance Contributions.
Au Pairs will receive emergency hospital treatment under the NHS due to reciprocal health agreements with countries under the UK Au Pair Programme, however, some GP's may make a charge for routine appointments.
There is a charge of £6.25 for each item of medicine prescribed.
Visits to the dentist for emergency treatment are also covered but there is a charge for a course of treatment.
Au Pairs from non EEC countries must ask their home country about the need to have private medical insurance before coming to Britain.
